About
My name is Bob Miller. I began a journalism career at the age of 19, and worked in journalism for 24 years, serving in reporting, design and editor roles at various times throughout my career. I became familiar with the Lawless case in 2007 as a newspaper editor, and revisited the case in several ways over the next 12 years. I’ve edited, reported and written dozens of stories on the case, and now I’m writing a book based on new information and leads, as well as larger context of the background behind the suspects of her killing. One thing I should note is that several people are helping me behind the scenes, including other current and former journalists. I’m not doing this alone, and I appreciate so much the people who have stepped forward.

Hi I’m Tyler Graef. I first learned about Mischelle Lawless and the investigation into her murder in the summer of 2014, soon after joining the Southeast Missourian newspaper in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. For about eight years at that newspaper, my work often focused on neighboring Scott County, where Mischelle lived, and where many of the figures connected to this case are still active. I covered multiple beats, including crime, and was part of the team that produced an award-winning investigation into corruption in the Department of Public Safety in Sikeston, a town just south of Benton, in Scott County.
